Industry 4.0 in Germany
Enormous potential of Industry 4.0
Smart, digital production, and manufacturing processes presents vast opportunities for German businesses working with digitalisation and digital transformation. The German government wants to utilise the enormous potential of Industry 4.0 to strengthen Germany’s manufacturing base. To speed up the adoption of Industry 4.0 technologies, The German government, major companies, and associations, have developed a platform to promote and implement Industry 4.0 standards and technologies across the German manufacturing sector. The platform is the world’s largest Industry 4.0 networks.
Germany lagging in the digitalisation race
German government working groups were founders of the term Industry 4.0 back in 2011, as they launched a new digital vision for the German manufacturing industry. Despite this, German SMEs are still lagging in the digitalisation race compared to its international competition. Lack of investments, complicated data protection rules / regulations and constrained availability of digital capabilities / specialists are mentioned as main reason.
Part of a large group with shared, cross industry competence
We have big competitors in Germany; however, our main advantages are that we are a fully German operation. We are part of a large group and work closely with colleagues from Data Respons Solutions in Norway, Sweden, and Denmark, as well as SW-oriented sister companies based in Germany. Our shared, cross industry competence on HW, SW and solutions further contribute to how a relatively small German organisation can handle large solution deliveries.
